Abstrakt: Situations  – the praise of scepticism and the error of certainty versteht die Situation im hegelschen Sinne als den Ort vor der Entscheidung: jenen unentschiedenen Moment, in dem die Wirklichkeit noch offen ist und jede Festlegung als Vorgriff erscheint. Es plädiert für den Skeptizismus als Methode: nicht als Verweigerung von Erkenntnis, sondern als eine Offenheit der Situation gegen die Verführung durch vorschnelle Gewissheiten zu halten. So zeigt sich die Trennung von Skepsis und Gewissheit als Unterscheidung zweier Verhältnisse zur Zeit: des Ausharterns im Unentschiedenen gegenüber dem vorzeitigen Ende.

Abstract: Situations  – the praise of scepticism and the error of certainty understands the situation in the Hegelian sense as the place before the decision: that undecided moment in which reality remains open and every determination appears as an anticipation. It advocates scepticism as a method: not as a refusal of knowledge, but as a way of holding the situation's openness against the seduction of premature certainties. The distinction between scepticism and certainty thus reveals itself as a distinction between two relations to time: abiding in the undecidability of the former, as opposed to the premature ending of the latter.

Resumen: Situations  – the praise of scepticism and the error of certainty entiende la situación en el sentido hegeliano como el lugar antes de la decisión: ese momento indeciso en el que la realidad sigue abierta y toda determinación aparece como un anticipo. El libro defiende el escepticismo como método: no como una renuncia al conocimiento, sino como una manera de mantener la apertura de la situación frente a la seducción de las certezas prematuras. Así, la separación entre escepticismo y certeza se revela como una distinción entre dos relaciones con el tiempo: permanecer en lo indecidido frente al final anticipado.
